Road trip with Charlie to Mogote, a sand spit in La Paz Bay where sinking into the ocean we found the grossly placed and horribly developed Resort at Paraiso del Mar. My final Saturday at Doce Cuarenta. I’m going to miss my morning cappuccinos and smoothies – the best in La Paz – and the friendliness and warmth of Enrique, America, and the other lovely people who work there.

La Fuente, La Paz’s famous ice cream parlor, where Charlie enjoys cones with mango sorbet. La Fuente has been in La Paz for around 25 years.  It is a Sunday tradition to walk down the Malecon, grab an ice cream and watch the sun set over the water.
