Environmental Defense Fund, a a leading national nonprofit organization representing more than 700,000 members. I current manage EDF's California Fisheries Fund, a $5 million revolving loan fund that promotes sustainable fishing.

The Nature Conservancy, a leading conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people. Through its Global Marine Initiative, the Conservancy works to protect healthy habitats by promoting a range of market-based approaches. As part of a trawler buy-back program, DeLapa wrote a business plan to put fisherman back on the water and build a sustainable fishery.

California Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA) Initiative, a public-private partnership between the California Resources Agency and the Resources Legacy Fund Foundation. DeLapa managed the Central Coast project, which led to the establishment of 33 marine protected areas along the central California coast.

Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Foundation, a nonprofit "community" and entrepreneurial foundation for the Monterey Bay that he co-founded. DeLapa wrote the original organizational development plan, then helped raise and administer a $650,000 startup grant.

LandWatch Monterey County, a nonprofit land use advocacy group that he co-founded. DeLapa developed the concept, raised $225,000 in startup funds, recruited a board of directors, hired an executive director, and chaired this nationally recognized organization.

Stanford University School of Medicine, Department of Radiology. DeLapa developed a business plan to expand its web-based, streaming media Continuing Medical Education courses.
